Laurence and Yann – wedding at Le Couvent Royal De Saint Maximin

I consider myself very lucky. About a year ago I have visited Saint Maximin la Sainte Baume and when I entered the Basilique Sainte Marie Madeleine I was amazed by its beauty. I thought to myself – one day I’m going to photograph a wedding in this basilica and only a year later my wish came true.

I find Yann and Laurence very inspiring. Yann is a great graphic designer and photographer. Laurence has always been dancing, she has studied political science and works at the Municipal Council. I danced all my childhood and worked as a graphic designer before becoming a photographer. They also like to travel (another of my greatest passions) so I’ve had a lot of common subjects with them to talk about, once we’ve met.

They’re both creative and complete each other so it was certain that this wedding will be like no other. Yann has designed beautiful invitations, menus, all the wedding details were in pastel colors. It’s also worth mentionning that he has designed Laurence’s engagement ring.

It was Olga who took care of Laurence’s hair stylisation, make-up was done by Vanessa Matala.

After the preparations, at the charming villa overlooking the sea, and a civil ceremony, we headed to Saint Maximin la Sainte Baume which is 1,5h drive from Nice to attend the religious ceremony at the basilique. The reception took place at Le Couvent Royal which is a *** stars hotel hosted inside the Royal Convent from 13th century.

The Basilica and the Convent were founded in 1295 by Charles of Anjou II (King of Sicilia and Count of Provence) to shelter the relics of Santa Maria Magdalena. Backed to the basilica, the Convent has been managed, from the very beginning and up to 1959, to the Dominican order.

I had a hard time to select the images to show you, as I really like a lot of them thanks to Laurence being so photogenic and graceful.
